The Only Annual Amelia Island Packing List You Need for Your Vacation

Winter

Amelia Island is known for its beautiful weather. Even in the colder months, the temperatures reach the high 60s, which makes for pleasant outdoor excursions. During the winter you can visit for a great New Years Eve party or find an excuse to visit during an extended weekend. Bird-watching on the island is a popular pastime for visitors and many of our guests.

In late January and early February, you can spot indigo bunting and cedar waxwing. In fact, the cedar waxwing flock to Fairbanks House to strip berries before continuing along their migratory path. Historical Fort Clinch State Park is one of the best spots to see birds of all feathers flock together while enjoying the mild Florida winter.
