You’ve heard of the Times Square Ball Drop in New York City. But have you heard of the annual Amelia Island New Year’s Eve Shrimp Drop? This shrimp-themed local event features music, food, vendors, favors, the Shrimp Drop, and a fireworks display! The shrimp will drop at 7:00 pm (the Greenwich Mean Time stroke of midnight) and then immediately followed by the fireworks show. This family-oriented New Year’s Eve jubilee takes place on Fernandina Beach’s waterfront downtown, at Marina Parking Lot B, and is organized by Light Up Amelia.
