3 Ways to Explore Spooky Things to do on Amelia Island

Ghost Tours on Amelia Island

The most popular spooky activity on Amelia Island is our ghost tour. Stroll down historic Centre Street after dark and hear tales of hauntings, pirates, and lost treasures. You never know who – or what – you might encounter on a spooky tour!

The Amelia Island Museum of History offers a great ghost tour starting in front of the St. Peters Episcopal Church cemetery that costs $15 for adults and $10 for kids.

There is also Amelia Island Ghost Tours hosted by paranormal enthusiast Diane Blanton. Take your camera/phone for a chance to take a picture of the supernatural while you take a half-mile walking tour of downtown Fernandina Beach.

Haunted Houses on Amelia Island

If ghost tours aren’t your thing, there are several haunted houses in the area. USA Today rated The 13th floor haunted house in the top 5 most terrifying haunted houses in the U.S.A. The attraction has several sections, including Bad Blood, Dead in the Water, and The Dollmaker, and has several mini-games and axe throwing to help you fight off ghosts in your future!

Halloween Celebrations on Amelia Island

Last but not least, we have our Halloween celebrations. The Palace Saloon hosts a large Halloween party, complete with a costume contest, live music, and plenty of spooky fun every year. If you want to get lost while surrounded by some corn, try out Conners Corn Maze in nearby Hilliard, Fl. Conner’s A-maize-ing Acres hosts a Haunted Trail and Cornmaze will get your blood pumping as you try to figure out how to escape the sea of corn and be safe from all that lurks in the stalks.

The Best Place to Stay on Amelia Island

We are proud to be a historic house and even happier that we are not haunted by the ghosts of owner’s past! When you are done being frightened by the ancient Isle of Eight inhabitants, stay somewhere safe from spirits when you visit The Fairbanks House. Choose between charming B&B rooms, private suites, and cozy cottages. Wake up to freshly baked pastries, sizzling eggs and bacon, and delicious coffee in the morning. Our complimentary gourmet breakfast is one of our guest favorites! There’s no better destination to call your home away from home during your visit to Fernandina Beach.
