Directions

Fernandina Beach is located on Amelia Island, the northernmost Atlantic Coast barrier island in Florida.

Major airlines serve Jacksonville International Airport which is 30 minutes from Fairbanks House. Private aircraft may use the facilities at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport. Transportation from either airport can be arranged.  For passengers arriving by boat, the Fernandina Beach marina is quite convenient, just a 10-minute walk from Fairbanks House.

Directions

Amelia Island is only thirteen miles long and two miles wide – at its widest point – so it’s hard to get lost here.  However, GPS systems don’t seem to understand the island yet and they have a hard time getting you here, so we highly recommend that you print out our directions page and bring it with you.  Once you’ve arrived, then you can lose yourselves.

If travelling by automobile, use Exit 373 from Interstate 95 and follow the signs for Fernandina Beach along Highway A1A, 200 East. After the bridge, go straight for 3.3 miles to Cedar Street. Turn left onto Cedar Street. Go one block and turn right onto 7th Street. Our parking lot entrance is on the left just past the house. Fairbanks House is located at 227 South Seventh Street. It is helpful to note that the cross streets will be named after trees, are in alphabetical order and you’ll be coming down the alphabet.
