Dee Dee Bartels Public Boat Ramp is another excellent destination for sunset watching. You won’t believe how incredible the sky looks at sunset from this spot.
Old Town’s Fernandina Plaza
Old Town’s Fernandina Plaza is an excellent spot for sunset watching for a more elevated view over the river. Just head to the corner of Estrada and White Street.
14th Street Bridge over Egans Creek
Another option for elevated views of the sunset over the water, make your way to the 14th Street Bridge over Egans Creek.
Fort Clinch State Park
The western riverbank in Fort Clinch State Park is a great destination for sunset watching. Spend time exploring the park’s hiking trails, fishing off the shore, or collecting seashells and sharks’ teeth. Then, end the day with front row seats to a gorgeous sunset. Keep in mind that the park closes at sundown.
Amelia Island State Park
Another local state park to visit for sunset views is Amelia Island State Park. Venture to the south end of the island to admire the fiery sunset overlooking the Nassau Sound. You might find a viewing post on the George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier. This park also closes at sundown.
