Preserve America Community Designation

Pretty much everyone who lives here – or who visits here – thinks that Fernandina is a pretty cool place but sometimes it’s nice to have that national recognition too. The entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places and many individual properties (including Fairbanks House) are on the list as well and there have been other accolades. But the city’s most recent designation was to be named as a “Preserve America Community,” in recognition of the ongoing efforts throughout the city. As an owner of a property built in the 1800’s, I’ll tell you that the dedication required to do this is enormous and costly so this is no small feat to have an entire community who “gets it”. We’re proud to carry the moniker. Come see for yourself.
