This just has to be one of the most magical real towns anywhere.  Christmastime rolls around and Fernandina puts on the dog.  We already have a storybook setting, but simple wreaths with red bows hung on beautiful street lamps make you just feel like you’re in a Christmas movie.  You might find one of Santa’s helpers wandering around – sometimes with a pirate in tow – or a little brass band or a shopkeeper in antlers, but you’ll always find a slower pace and lots of friendly smiles.  We’ve always done just about all of our holiday shopping here on Centre Street because it’s a joy to be in this atmosphere, instead of jockeying for a parking position.
