Isola Bella about a quarter mile off the shores of Stresa in Lake Maggiore. You should click on the link to read about it if for no other reason than to enjoy the interesting translation that Babelfish or some other service has provided. It really is a beautiful palace (of the Borromeo family) – but I was most impressed with the gardens. We could have spent a week wandering around in there.
